You do not need to type anything in the subject line. Anything you enter will be ignored by the list processor so if your e-mail software requires a subject you can make the subject anything you like.
If your e-mail software allows you to attach a signature to the bottom of your messages, you should be sure not to do this for this message. Otherwise your subscription will work, but you may receive an error response from the list processor as it tries to interpret your signature as list processing commands.
